Montreal Sketches 02: Statues in the City

Thanks to the internet I can make this post seem educational!  I hope wikipedia is accurate...

This is at the east side Mont Royal, the large hill/park in the middle of the

city.  The statue is a monument to the Canadian historical figure

I like how roughly this statue was sculpted, and yes, the proportions are 
very awkward (probably intentional?), it was kind of creepy... Apparently 
this statue and small park pays tribute to a Canadian painter and sculptor 
from Quebec named Jean Paul Riopelle:
